I still remember at the beginning of year 3. All of us who have been to UK were suffering from post UK syndrome. Everyone was so yearning to back to UK for the freedom, weather, lovers, junk food, fashion and travelling !!!
Two days ago my lecturer visited the office where I have my internship.
My boss and him discussed quite a lot of stuff regarding the criteria of a fresh graduate should have. They talked about nowadays chemical engineers are too dependent on programme in designing as programme may lead us to the wrong direction. He also mentioned that students nowadays should focus on fundamentals instead of thinking that programme is superior. Meanwhile, we shouldn't too depend on Hysys.
But, in university, I feel that the university is quite focusing in the Hysys programme which can minimize the time spending on a certain design. I would agree that fundamentals of certain process such as liquid-liquid extraction is important. But, all the fundamentals in separation and chemical and phase equilibria aren’t taught that well in the university. Students weren’t understanding the concepts in the text and I believe the marks from these fundamentals modules are scaled up, especially the process dynamic and control.
So, are the university is in educational based or in an earning money based ? Are the government focus on the education in both public and private universities to improve the living standard in Malaysia? Are the students nowadays having high enthusiasm in learning ? The most concern part is , are the fresh graduates nowadays able to cope with life? Definitely not, if you just hold a BEng cert.
With my boring-ness, I played with the website named Picnik for half day in the office. No work is assigned to me while others are busy with their own work. LOL. Pictures below are the photos I picnik-ed. :D
I know some of you guys more than a decade! Time flies. I really miss the moment we were together in the school. We talked crazily while teacher teaching, ponteng some of the chinese classes during form 5, we purposely don't go for assembly just to decorate our class and we had most of our tuition class together.
From these photos, I think I changed a lot. But, my face still as round as usual.
Wee..it is August. Welcome back home to the 3 UK returners. :)
Many of my friends graduated. The number of students in Chem Eng for next year left less than 1/3. Especially , the course I took which is Chem Eng with Environmental Eng, I think there will be 4 of us in the class for that module, and it will be 20 credits next year. I would not like to predict too much about the atmosphere in class for next year. Gonna be TERRIBLE. Lecturer will be very close to me, meanwhile, I would not be able to skip the class.
I have another study life before I graduate. And, I'm not prepared for the working life in the future which MIGHT BE same as my intern life. SLEEP EAT WORK EAT WORK EAT SLEEP. Repeated every weekday, dull and mundane.
Anyway, good luck and have a bright future for those who graduated. I must enjoy and study hard for my final year. Maintain my results, waive from paying PTPTN loan and get ready for the non-return working life.
There will be a carnival at my secondary school next saturday. Buddies who are not in KL , still havent back. Buddies who are in KL might have to work :(

This is my first time trying roasted goose, trying a roasted goose from Hong Kong reaching by air. This is from my uncle's friend.
The box is really really HUGE and we thought that the portion is big.

But we found out that the box is really huge for such a small portion of roasted goose !! I found out that the fat is as thick as HALF an inch!! It is really disgusting to swallow the fat into your stomach !!
Plum sauce packets are came with the box. The difference between this plum sauce and the usual plum sauce we have in Malaysia is the viscosity is much thicker and more sour.
If you like something like roasted duck , definitely this is a nice dish.

Disneyland is the destination where every kid dream for. I am sure your memory during childhood was full of Disney characters such as Mickey Mouse, Tom & Jerry, Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, etc. They were repeated and repeated in the TV. They brought you the happiness. You always laugh at how Tom catching the little and wise Jerry.
I am so yearning for a Disneyland tour. I don’t know when it will be. I want to go into Disneyland before I am too old.
